City+2024@Kitakyushu Successfully Held in Kitakyushu, Japan
City+2024@Kitakyushu: An International Conference on Interdisplinary Urban Studies was successfully held from October 25 to 28, 2024, at Faculty of Environmental Engineering, the University of Kitakyushu. The theme of the conference was ‘Future for Environmental City’. The conference, co-organised by City+ and the University of Kitakyushu, attracted over 120 researchers and experts from 12 countries and regions across four continents.
01 Opening Ceremony
On the morning of October 26, 2024, Dr. Tao Zhang, Chair of City+2024@Kitakyushu Local Committee, presided over the opening ceremony of the conference. Prof. Soichiro Kuroki, Prof. Weijun Gao and Dr. Yongping Zhang gave their welcoming speeches, warmly welcoming attendees.
02 Opening Keynote Speech
Following the opening ceremony, Prof. Prasanna Divigalpitiya from Kyushu University, Prof. Ashraf Dewan from Curtin University, and Prof. Han Haoying from the City University of Macau delivered the opening keynote speeches.
03 Parallel Forums and Poster Presentations
The forum consists of five sessions with 20 parallel meetings. Experts from various fields provided valuable comments to the presenters. After the sessions, the participants actively discussed with each other. During the forum, posters were also displayed in the surrounding corridor. All attendees can vote for the best poster.
04 Closing Ceremony
On October 27, Mrs. Ellen Witte, Prof. Zhifu Mi, and Prof. Ying Long delivered closing keynote speeches.
05 Winning Papers
The conference published the conference proceedings, The Conference Proceedings of City+2024@Kitakyushu, and awarded ‘Best Paper Award’, ‘Best Poster Award’ and ‘Best Oral Presentation Award’.

06 Technical Route Tour (Kyushu Cultural Route)
On October 28th, Dr. Tao Zhang, Chair of the City+2024@Kitakyushu Local Committee, led members on a wonderful journey along the ‘Kyushu Cultural Route’.
